Server Map reset

So as many of you know, the server is having problems. Part of this is due to the map becoming corrupt...

no matter how many times I restore a backup it still happens.

So what someone suggested to me, was to completely wipe the map.

Pro's of this: New Area to explore.
1.2 Generated map (currently a mix of 1.1 and 1.2)
A new PvP spawn (I have a nice idea what to do with it)
Better Town layouts

Con's of this: Only one mainly. You lose everything and have to start again.

I owuld ofcourse keep the map on back up so if the reset doesn't work We can just put the map back on.

It may not solve the roll back problem, just thought I would clear that up now....

I don't see it doing any harm, but I can not guarantee it will solve it.

I think it'll be cool...mostly cause I get tired of sitting in one place anyway... so it'll be fun to explore a new world, and all have to start over from the beginning again :D

Well me and advin were rethinking the rules of creating towns so we didnt get random towns popping up from players being on the server 24 hours...

So this might be the time to implement it :)

Here here to that, Maybe I should remove all our admin commands apart from the main ones, and make a rank for the "special" one's we can switch to when needed

especially after i spent so much time mining and finding almost a stack of diamonds, and donating and getting lots of gold :P

Three of us from Border town in our mine found a bunch of lapis.



Also if you're going to.... save the buildings from spawn town with cuboid.... those will be a pain in the arse to rebuild.



So my vote is no... there's been alot of hard work... first find out if it really is the real reason, and before you do anything, get that damned hosting company to do something right.

Also... if you could save that map... I still want to do a few videos on it.

Especially meh hotel D: That took ages of planning and thinking to build.

I guarantee if you reset this that the whole of Sparta will leave.

It would be really just better for us , guys... The terrain is messed up firstly cuz of the "spawn Town"
Why the hell u need huge ass flat area when u build like 1/10 of the land?
second , The town building and spots are just messed up . People were thinking this will be simple etc etc so they made towns by putting buildings there or there , without even talking to each other.
Third , good part of map was digged for diamonds and living places ( Dure - the pro at that ) , and there are less and less areas near spawn (old one) to mine , so people build really far just for the meterials.
and last , why you think people vote for yes? cuz they know these things or even more than that. thats why Alo has put vote for this.
And about sparta , idk if there's even more than 5 people that log in to be there .

Are u really want to see and feel these problems in server? i don't . So why you want to waste ur "small" time that u spent on those , when u can fix most of the problems by accepting AND building maybe even a better place?

1) They're talking about porting Spawn Town to the new server arent they?
2) WTF are you on about here? You have a problem that people have built houses....?
3) In about a months time after the sever restarts, it will all be mined out again and need to be reset. Plus, it's not mined out at all, the amount of chunk errors i've had around that area shows theres loads of resources if you mine down to it.

Sparta was the most active town by far in most recent weeks, we've just not been on last couple of days cause theres been problems with logging on, and with the rollbacks. Restarting the server wont necessarily fix those problems, but it will piss off a lot of people that have put effort into building their towns.

but honestly Id prolly prefer a wipe, gives newer people the chance to be on an even setting with everybody else. Besides Im getting kinda bored of my stacks of gold blocks and diamonds

Why should those late to the server have the same footing as those that were there from the start? Are we gonna restart everytime we get a certain amount of new people?
